How to Add an emoji

Find the emoji keyboard in any app that uses the standard keyboard, like Instagram or WhatsApp. To add an emoji:

1. Tap the text field, then tap  or . 
2. Use the gray icons at the bottom of the keyboard to switch emoji themes, or swipe left or right to view more. Tap  to see emoji that you've recently used.
3. To change the skin tone of certain emoji, tap and hold an emoji.
4. Tap an emoji to add it to your text field.

To use a Predictive emoji, write your message and look for the suggested emoji in the predictive input field, then tap it to replace the word or add an emoji. 

To turn off Predictive text, touch and hold  or , tap Keyboard Settings, then turn off Predictive.

Don't see the emoji keyboard?

If you don't see the emoji keyboard, make sure that it's turned on.

1. Go to Settings > General and tap Keyboard.
2. Tap Keyboards, then tap Add New Keyboard.
3. Tap Emoji.

How to Add an emoji

1. Open any communication app like Facebook or Twitter.
2. Tap a text box such as a texting conversation or compose a Tweet to open the keyboard.
3. Tap the smiley face symbol next to the space bar.

Note If you don't see a smiley face, long-press the comma.

4. The first page of emoji you normally encounter is recent emoji or the face emojis. You can drag your finger up or down within the page to scroll. You can tap to another page from the ribbon at the top of the keyboard.
5. Tap your desired emoji to add it to your message.

1. Open Gboard in your app drawer.
2. Tap Text correction .
3. Tap Show emoji predictions to toggle it on.
